GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE DARLAGHAT

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

A candidate will be eligible for admission to the First Year of the three-year degree course if he/she fulfils the eligibility conditions as prescribed by HPU Shimla, which are subject to amendment from time to time. In general:

1. A candidate should have passed 10+2 examination conducted by HP Board of School Education or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto by HP University, Shimla.

2. For admission to First Year, an applicant must not be more than 23 years of age (25 years for girl students) as on 01-07-2021. The upper age limit for SC/ST candidates is 26 years. However, the Vice Chancellor, HPU Shimla in exceptional circumstances, to be recorded in writing, may allow a relaxation in age up to a period of six months.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1. Admission will be granted strictly on merit basis and fulfilment of eligibility conditions.

2. Every candidate seeking admission to any class has to apply on the prescribed form appended to the college prospectus/available online.

3. The application form is to be filled up by the applicant after reading all the instructions, rules and eligibility conditions. The submission of application form for admission, whether in physical or online mode, shall imply that the applicant is familiar with admission rules and code of conduct in the college and has agreed to abide by the same.

4. The applicant has to bring his/her mother/ father/ guardian with him/ her at the time of admission/ confirmation of admission (for online mode).

Note: Guardian means only a blood relation. He/ She should not be a student of this college. No student of this college should sign in place of parent/guardian of any applicant; otherwise none of the two will be admitted.

5. The applicant must produce all original certificates for verification at the time of admission/confirmation thereof.

6. A candidate having a gap of one or more years in his/her studies will have to submit an affidavit explaining the reasons thereof.

7. The girl students from Himachal Pradesh seeking admission to any class must produce an attested copy of H.P. Bonafide Certificate to avail tuition fee concession.

8. Physically challenged students seeking admission in their category must attach an attested copy of disability certificate from competent authority.

9. Candidates coming from school education boards other than HP Board of School Education must produce relevant migration certificate in original at the time of admission/registration with HPU Shimla.

10. Every student seeking admission to any class will be required to pay a sum of ₹500/- per annum towards PTA fund.

11. All terms and conditions of the admission and fee structure can be changed or modified as per the directions of H.P.U. Shimla/H.P. Government.

12. All admissions will be made on the recommendation of the concerned admission committee.

13. All admissions will be provisional subject to the approval of Vice Chancellor, HPU Shimla.

14. All the fees and funds are to be deposited within the stipulated time period.

Note: If a candidate does not deposit fees within the stipulated time period, his/her admission will be deemed cancelled.

Important:The students, who are required to produce affidavits for admission,must consult the admission committee about the contents/statement to be given in the affidavit so that any inconvenience at later stage may be avoided. Submission of false affidavit is a legal offence.

REFUSAL OF ADMISSION

1. A candidate expelled by any college/university or found involved in any act of indiscipline in the preceding year(s) will not be admitted to the college.

2. The students having compartment in 10+2 class are not eligible for admission.

3. Any candidate who has not appeared/passed in English as a subject at 10+2 level shall not be eligible for admission to B.A. I year.

4. If a student gets admission by furnishing incorrect information or by concealing facts, his /her admission will be cancelled on detection of such fault by the college/ university.

5. The Principal reserves the right to reject or cancel the admission of any student, or to expel/ suspend him/her, without assigning any reason(s) or explanations, if situation sowarrants.

6. Failed students of other colleges will not be admitted
